Your portraits need to be consistent with your business. They need to communicate exactly what your brand stands for. It’s a visual representation of your personal style.
Think words like… professional, trustworthy, eclectic, artistic, modern, minimalist, hip, edgy, fresh, innovative, holistic and the list goes on.
What is your brand about? And how can you make your images reflect that?
Take a recent shoot we did with a local interior designer / renovator. Her business is to take a space and give it a unique personality. With a focus on fresh, bright, modern interiors, we wanted her portraits to express just that.
We shot the portraits in a home currently under renovation, so highlighted completed spaces that were reflective of her design philosophy.
We created unique looks with wardrobe and location changes to provide the client with lots of options to choose from and variety in the end product.
But most importantly, our focus was to keep a consistent feel to the images. A bright, fresh and natural feel, that was flattering and complemented the space.
In the end, we decided to focus less on design elements, and more on creating the desired feel. Although we did incorporate some of her personal design in a restrained and minimalist way.
Each business is unique, each client is unique and each shoot is unique. There is no universal style that works for everyone. Images are a powerful communicator. They say so much in a single image.
You just need to decide what you want to say…
